we have a modem that is connected to a PC. when you turn off the PC the modem still keeps connection on that analog line and no one else can call in because it is left as being used. The program will not let me manually log off either. I press log off and it acts as though it is but if you check the line is still in use. Even if you turn the power to the modem off and back on the connection is stil there.!? Is this a programing or wiring issue? has anyone experiecnced this? any suggetions?

sounds like this is a data modem to modem connection (usually a 4 wire circuit) which is nailed up all the time. These setups do not dial. If there is no reason to break the connection, then leave it connected....no harm in that.
