at home when i try to connect to the internet it dials the number makes the connecting noise but then towards the end it just disconnect's and says 'the microsoft dial up adapter is not responding' and then says that i need to install it. I installed client 32 as I dial into my work, may this have something to do with it?

Have you got the TCP/IP protocol installed? Also, maybe the connection you're trying to make doesn't want to see protocols other than TCP/IP available? There's usually a box(s) to untick the ones not required.

I've had this a few times, the best thing to do (if you hav'nt done it already) is uninstall the dial-up adapter and tcp/ip and then restart and simply install them again.
If that does'nt help check what Roger said (what protocal to use).

Hope that sorts your problem :)
