Hello,
I'm trying to run host in Win2K with Quarterdeck Procomm Plus 32. I know very little about it, so this is the most basic setup it can be. Just a modem connection set for adaptive answer. Everything is default. No fax, just data. It works fine when I first initialize it, but after a user has disconnected, the modem does not reset properly. It is set to recycle on disconnect.
I'd appreciate any help offered.

Are you using version 4.8 (choose Help | About the check)? Version 4.8 is the only version of Procomm that was intended for Windows 2000. If you are not expecting fax connections, then I would configure the host script for just data connections.

Yeah, I'm using an old version. All it says in about is Quarterdeck Procomm Plus 32. So this is before symantec acquired the program... I know that it isn't meant to work with win2K, but I haven't seen this issue anywhere else... I'm trapped though. I need to either get this to work, or go back to our old system. I have configured just for data connections and still no change.

Go into the Programs directory under your Procomm install, select an EXE or DLL file, right click, and choose Properties. What version does it report there? I don't recall off the top of my head what version Procomm Plus 32 corresponded to, but it's either 4.0 or 4.5. 4.0 was for Win95 only, and I don't think you'll get that to work with Win2K. Version 4.5 was the first version of Procomm for NT, so that may work with 2K.

Ok, I got version 4.5. Do you think I can get it to work??

The first thing I would try is see if you can call into the system twice in a row successfully without the host script running. This will help determine if the problem is with the script or somewhere else in either Procomm or the system itself. Start Procomm and make sure that the Options | Answer Options | Procomm Plus Answers Calls and Options | Answer Options | Data menu items in Procomm are checked. Also make sure that the Options | Answer Options | Fax menu item is unchecked. Call into Procomm and make a connection. After you have done so, disconnect from the calling machine and see if you can connect a second time.

Well, nothing was working, but never mind. I got them to buy me version 4.8 Let me see if I can get that to work.
Thanks for your help.
