Hi all,

I've bought an Aztech MR2800-W modem card. Installation completed successfully without error and no hardware conflict detected by WIN ME. However, everytime I boot up my PC, the "TR (Terminal Ready)" light of the modem is "ON" which prevents my PC from dialing. I've download the most update driver from Aztech Website, the problem persists.

I've tried using it in another PC which is running WIN98 SE, everything is fine.

does it imply any wrong setting in my 1st PC? if so, what should I do?

This also happens for an external modem (USR sportster).

any ideas? folks

MANY THANKS

Problem solved!

when using this modem, an icon "Modem Country Setting" is added to the "Control Panel". The correct country MUST be selected.

it is different from using my USR 56K external modem which does not have that icon.

anyway, it's a good experience of not to buying 2nd hand hardware without user manual.
