Hi,

I have four analog DN’s setup as a modem pool (I.E. 100, 101, 102, 103). Calls come into DN 100 and if it’s busy then roll over to the next open DN in the chain.

It works great, but now I want to add a fifth number and I can’t get it to work.

I seem to recall that there is a limit to the number of times you can forward a call.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a work around?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Peter.

Peter,
If you set up the 5th one like the 1st 4 numbers, and all 4 numbers are busy, the next call should roll over to the 5th number. I am not aware of a limit when it comes to hunting. As far as forwarding is concerned, there is a limit unless you program your TNs with SFA (Second Level Forwarding Allowed).

If your users are dialing only the 1st number then you only need to set up the HUNT feature on your analog DNs. To test, dial your lead number 5 times and see if you get modem tone. If it doesn't work, post your TNB configuration for all of your phones.

fred8677's analysis of the situation sounds correct to me. As long as all the TN's are set to hunt to the next DN in line, all should be good. This means that on the TN of the 4th modem, you have to have it HUNT <DN of 5th Modem> and then on the 5th either leave HUNT blank or send it back to the 1st Modem DN for Circular Hunting.
