Modem on VG224 Issue

Hello,

I have a site that has a modem connected to managed router. The modem is connected to a VG224 (SCCP) and when I dial the number to the modem it rings 3 times and disconnects. Whne I call it the person onsite can see the lights on the modem flashing like it's connecting, btu it just drops.

Any settings I should look at on the VG or the config of the modem on the call manager (8.6)? Thanks
 
Does the modem even answer the call? From your description it doesn't. Or does it answer, try to handshake then disconnect?

I stole this answer from another post you might want to check the config for these lines especially the modem one.
 
This may not make sense the way you have this configured .... if your system is working, you can get to the router through the network, no problem, but if your router goes down, will the VG224 be still working to allow you connect through the VG224 line (assuming you get it working)? We always install a telco line for this, just in case. Your config may allow for this scenario, just trying to make sure you thought of it.

When you dial the number of the modem it rings 3 times then you get a busy signal. While it is ringing you can see the communication with the modem by the lights on it. Could just be a modem issue.

I added those statements to the VG, but still does the same thing.

A POTS line would be good for this, but it's a stand alone router with just our video conference equipment on it. If I can't get the line fron the VG to work then we might just have to order a line for this.

The lights on the modem while it's ringing it an indication that the call is getting there but it doesn't answer. Is the modem set for auto answer? Perhaps that is your issue
