aix/perts,

i have a 128-port async adapter with only 16-port RAN on-board. i was able to succesfully connect different terminals, i.e., ibm3151, wyse, etc..on this RAN.

i'm trying to connect my USR modem on one of the port of a 16-port RAN. the modem works great on a serial connection (native serial 1 and 2 port). but i'm having inconsistent results when trying to setup/connect the modem on the said 0RAN.

* won't answer/respond after i dial the number. same config for the modem when using it with the serial ports.

* modem answered back but didn't give me the login screen.

actually, i tried several combinations but....

any guesses/ideas?

NOTE: afternate RJ-45 connection=enable; login=enable; baud-rate=9600(won't answer if set to 19200); dumb term; flow control=rts.

thanks.

johny,

Well that is a strange one, as it works on the standard serial port it proves the config. of the port and the modem is o.k.

Have you tried different flow control options? that is the only thing you can really try, apart from a different port.

Strange one though.

Cheers
