modem failed to respond: 56k Performance Pro CP5610A

Hi,

I recently tried to install my new 56K Perfomance Pro Modem on my Win2000 Server Athlon 1500+ computer.

I have not been able to make a connection and would like some help figuring out what is going on:

OS: Windows 2000 Server

Device Manager settings:
Modems - U.S Robotics 56K Fax PCI
Device status: Device is working properly
Diagnostics: Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_12B9&DEV_1008&SUBSYS_00D712B9&REV_01
Query modem: The modem failed to respond. Make sure it is properly connected and turned on. If it is an internal modem or is connected, verify that the interrupt for the port is properly set
Advanced: Advanced Port Settings: COM5

The settings thru the Phone and Modem settings icon in the Control Panel:

I have tried uninstalling the drivers and removing the modem and then re-installing the modem.

I have also downloaded driver 3CP5610A_9X_2k.exe and installed the driver

hey, yeah. im having the same issue. for some reason, 2k just doesnt want to use the modem to dial out. i switch back over the my 9x boot, and it dials out fine. i have no other issues with it. if anyone can find a patch of somesort, it would be much appreciated.
