After reinstalling Windows 98 and all the required drivers, I tried checking the modem by dialling out with MSN. When it got to the actual dialling stage the system froze.
I then tried "Modem Doctor" but as it was detecting the modems com port it again froze.
So I changed the com port from 4 to 3, and tried again, with the same effect.
Next, I changed the modem, and again tried ports 3 & 4 still it freezes.
If it helps, the IRQ is set on 11, and is shared with the "IRQ holder for PCI steering"
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
