Modem CODEC error

When trying to use the Motorola SM56 modem in a Gateway Astro get "Incompatible modem CODEC detected please check modem card". Have removed device through device manager and restarted and used Update Driver option in device manager. Any other ideas?

is it a voice modem because the codec is for sound only does else. So long and thanks for all the fish.
