What is the modem card in the IP403, which you need to take the lid off? Is this to remote dial into the pbx and pull a config? If so, how do you do this? Can I dial into a IPOffice and pull a config?
The modem card fits internaly ino the main system module
It enables external useres to create a dialup networking connection through the IPO
this connection can be used to obtain the config.
If you have an ISDN connection at HQ then a ISDN terminal adapter can be used to connect to the IPO & the modem card is not req.
Typically your modem call arrives on some known CLI/DID/whatever for which an Incoming Call Route is set to RAS service as its destination.
RAS username/password handshake occurs and then the connection is assigned an IP address by the IP Office (by default).
That connection is then the same as a PC on the same LAN as the IP Office, ie. run Manager, the only change is that you may have to change the Manager preferences from 255.255.255.255 to the specific address of the IP Office LAN1.
