Can someone help, I have a modem set up on a Ip office system and about three out of ten calls the modem doesnt hang up. The way I have it configured is as follows, the modem is hooked up to an anolog extension on a Ip office system, we dial it remotely from another modem to the main trunk number, voicemail pro comes on we throw in a couple of pauses into the dialing string and then dial the extension. We had replaced the modems we increased and decreased the pauses in the dilaing string no luck.
If anyone has a better way of setting up a modem on an Ip office It would be most helpful.

if you have a spare DDI why not send that direct to the Modem port?
if not you could try setting the alog extn to IVR port, this will send a disconect clear signal to the modem when the line disconects

Thanks for the input I will try the Ivr port first, but not familiar with the tech terms what is a DDI and how do I set it up?

Direct Dial Inwards
You add the tellephone number presented into the incomming call routes & specify the destination

The ivr port setup did'nt work, the ext would not hang up. Now as far as the ddi.Would I need a separate incoming line deligated for the modem extension? I'm a little confused, on the ddi form it wants a incoming call #, I have four lines for this IP office if I pick line 1 will all the calls that come in on line 1 be directed to the modem?

Are you aon analog or ISDN trunks?

DDI is only available on ISDN, it is where more than 1 number can be delivered on the same circuit, the number dialed (or a part of it) is given to the IPO by the CO as part of the call setup.

As you are unfamiliar with the term I suspect that either you are on analog trunks. in which case it is of no use & you will still need to use the VM or route the call based on incomming CLI

Thanks you are correct i do have anolog trunks.

You can give the RAS an extension number. Then from VMPro dial this new extension number and your in. This way there is no need for the analog extension looping into a trunk port.

redphone - only if he has a modem2 card installed in his IP Office...
