mod_rewrite help

Not sure what to use but I think it is mod_rewrite.

I have a mailserver with webmail access. When a user types in

https://mail.foo.com

a Fedora Core Test page shows up. When the user types

https://mail.foo.com/webmail

it is able to get the login page. I want to set it up so that the user can type

https://mail.foo.com

and still get the login page for webmail which is located at

https://mail.foo.com/webmail

Please help.
