Mod Security - exceptions?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, it seems the most appropriate.

mod_security is protecting my webserver successfully, unfortunately it's also protecting me from my monitoring software.

Any idea how I stop the module from filtering traffic from a particular IP?
