I can not find a place in the bios which allows me to set a new voltage. My current processor is a 2.0volt 450, and I just puchased a new PIII 850 which has a voltage of 1.65 volts. I have already flashed the BIOS with the latest bios upgrade from intel. Do i need to return my processor for the 2.0 volt or are all the new PIII's 1.65 volt?? any assistance greatly appreciated. FYI, i have checked the motherboard and there are no jumpers to change the voltage there??

the MOBO model is : SE440BX-2(NA). the series number is: AA 720930-213

It is manufactured by INTEL. the intel developers site indicates that this board should work with the 850 processor...it shows that any board revisions of this model after '200' will take the PIII850 CPU...here's the link:

It probably set the voltage automaticly. My GVC/BCM GT6934 does that.

Check the processor support chart again.
754552-200 or later
754558-200 or later
A01450-200 or later.

If your board was AA 754552-213 or AA 754558-213 or AA A01450-213 then it would support the 850 MHz Pentium III.

But since your board is AA 720930-213 it only supports up to a 600 MHz Pentium III processor.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

John
