Has anyone had an issue with mobility extension causing a phone to reboot? We have 1 phone that will randomly reboot and it didn't start doig this until we set it up with mobility extension. We have tried everything we can think of to correct the problem, but no luck.

Anyone else have this problem and if so what did you do to correct it?

Thanks!

I should add, we have tried the following to correct the problem:

Replaced phone (twice)
Replaced all cords
Moved to a different cable
Moved to different port
Compared other mobility users programming

Sounds more like a hardware issue, or network wiring issue. Have you tried swapping connections (wiring/patch cable/network port) to see if the issue goes away and of course the phone?

Hi sbryan33,

I haven't seen this problem myself but is it worth deleting the phone, DN etc. from the system and starting again from scratch for that user. It could be a problem in the database that is making it react funny.

You said you tried a couple of different handsets so it sounds like config problem.

Best regards,
Andy

trvlr1 - yes, we have tried all of those steps, no luck.

AJFrancis - it isn't one user that is having issues. it's any user that logs in on that phone. we have changed out the phone twice and checked all the cables/ports, etc.

whykap - we are using version 8

I agree with AJFrancis then, rebuild from scratch on the phone to see if that makes a difference. If not, this unit may be a candidate for a conference room or other location where you have a phone not set for mobility.

I am not aware of any extension mobility bugs in version 8 and the fact that this is the only phone doing this makes me think it is a physical issue as well (wiring, environmental, etc). I am not aware of any misconfiguration in the EM set up that would cause a phone to reboot. It simply wouldnt work.

You said you had changed the phone a couple of times which is why I thought it wasn't hardware. You said you changed port also. Was the phone plugged directly into the port or via patch panels etc? If you haven't tried directly I would give that a try, which will at least prove if it is faulty cabling back to the desk.
