I have a very frustrated customer who wants the the DID caller ID to pass through to a phone that is mobile twinned. These are Internal calls he is talking about. For example x100 has mobile twinning turned on and x101 calls this extension. Either the extension # appears on the cell phone of x100 or the number that x100 normally pushes out. They want the DID of x101 to appear on the cell phone.

The person who is twinned wants to know "who" internally has called them and wants their DID to appear so they can call them back.

Does anyone know of a way to get this to happen? They are migrating from a BCM and this will do it for them. I have tried on my system (SIP Trunks) and I can not make it work. They have a PRI. Thank you

Do you now send DID or main billing telephone number? This might be controlled by the provider and you need to have them allow you to send your callerID out. If you have this set up with your provider what is you ARS set to? Do you have this set to send the main number? You might need to set up a new short code to a new ARS table that will allow you to sent the DID info.

Teletechman---their provider didn't change and they had a BCM450 before upgrading to the IP Office. So right now each extension has a DID and they can push that out fine when calling an external number. Also if their phone is twinned, and someone calls from the outside to their DID that phone number of the caller appears on their cell phone. It is only when internally someone calls their phone that they want to know who is calling them from the office. Right now depending on if I select "Send original calling party information for mobile twinning" it will either send just the extension number or the DID of the phone that is twinned. They want their DID to appear.

What is the monitor trace showing when you try a twinned call?

Internally, the Caller ID is their extension number.

What is the outbound PSTN... PRI or SIP?

Have you enabled "Send original calling party..." under System -> Twinning?

From 9.0.3 on there is an option in your trunk. IPO will send the number that points to the original calling user in ICR.

Try this:
In ARS add a shortcode like this:
SC = "twinned mobile number", TN = .S1234567E, Action=Dial, Line ID = outgoing group id of lines

replace "twinned mobile number" with the mobile number of the user with mobile twinning enabled
replace "1234567" in "TN = .S1234567E" with the actual DDI number to send minus the extension number at the end, that will be the E.

If it doesn't work then just bad luck for the customer.

As said before. It worked like a charm up to 9.0.2

With 9.0.3 they added an option in lines to send the original caller's number for twinning and forwarding. To get the correct number when called internal you have to use ICR as a kind of a translation table between internal and external numbers. So you have to create ICR for every user for outbound trunk with the number to send (i98712346789 works as well) as incoming number and internal user as target.

Had to do it once for 300 users...

If you call internally you don't show your DID to the extension you show your extension number so the twinned call will show whatever you see on your display or depending on the line provider it will not allow the call to go through.
You can try intrigrant's suggestion but I think it is not something the IPO should do, twinning is not like calling the cell phone from your extension via outside calls.
I wish you luck and if you get it working let us know as maybe we have a customer that wants it as well some time.

As long as you have "Send original...." under System -> Twinning and setup ICR as derfloh said it will work, we have basically every customer running this way since most just use mobiles.

The options under Line that came in 9.0.3 can only be used if it's not set under System -> Twinning as this overides the Line settings.

I just noticed that with a DMS100 setup you send the correct number but if you have "send names" enabled you send the twinned users name out together with the incoming callers caller ID.
Was very annoying to some people that had name priority on their cell phone because they always saw their own name instead of the callers name and they didn't see the number at all :)
