Anyone using Mobile Twinning (EC500) with Avaya Workplace?

I.e. Workplace is not used as SIP phone, but just as a dialer app?
In version 3.15.1 on iPhone (I have no other phone here to test) the menu for EC500 options is gone.
But calling a number still works.

Is this a known problem?
Maybe just for this release?

Workplace is a full sip phone.
This is an IP Office forum, so EC500 is referred to as Mobile Twinning.

If enabled for the user in IP Office, you will see where to toggle it on and off under the presence icon on mobile, under the features menu on the desktop version.

I'm talking about IP Office and Workplace for iOS and Android.
And i't about the 'old' mobile integration using GSM calls and DTMF.

This is called Mobile Twinning in IP Office or EC-500 for the same but with ACM.
It was possible to configure Workplace client as dialer app for Twinning only, i.e. no softphone.

However this config items are gone. But I think its a bug.
It does not behave identical in iOS and Android. In iOS you can still see the configuration but not in Android.
For Android, I was not able to place a call becouse no service configured. But in iOS, you can place a call.
It is then called as +4123456789,00033836991234 if you want to call speaking clock in France if FNE31 is +4123456789.

I tried 3.15.1 on Android and there the setting is still there.

You select the top-left menu, press the "wheel" next to Avaya Workplace and then Services, it's at the bottom of the list.

Janni78,

Found one Android with 3.13.0
Tried it manually. Resett the App and 'Manually Configure' then Service, Details.
My last entry is Exchange Calendar. No EC500 settings.

Upgrade to 3.15.1 but same result.

I will open a ticket...

Just confirmed the Mobile Twinning option is there.
If you don't see it, make sure the user has twinning enabled on the IP Office, and a Twinned number assigned.

As for using Workplace as a just a dialer.. similar to how One-X Communicator for IP Office worked.. I don't think you can do this in IP Office with Workplace... although there is an option to disable VOIP calling via the settings file.

Perhaps, once VOIP calling is disabled, the call defaults to the Twinned number??? I don't know.

Travis,
Thanks, I will double check.

But, yes, this dialer option does work. We have done this a lot.
Especialy with first lockdown last year. It's simple and does work with Essential Edition too at no extra cost.
