I have just installed Mobile extension on a site and are experiencing a problem with twinning. The problem is:

A hotdesk user programmed on site A, logs into a phone on site B. Now on the mobile extension their domian is site A, but when a calls is presented to their phone the twinning does not work.

It does work when they are logged into site A.

I ran some SMDR traces and I found that Site B is putting the a FAC for Call Hold - Remote Retrieve into the dialling string, which providers, do not recognise.

Has anyone experienced this problem and can help me with a resolution.

Many thanks

The basics of Mobile extension require that the Monitoring extension have a ringing key appearance of the Prime Line.

Key Appearances do not ring between systems!

For your scenario to work you will need to set up a Monitoring extension on each system associated with the hotdesk user.

The above is a logical conclusion based on my understanding of ME and is not to be taken as the final word on the subject.

KwbMitel,

Thank you for the response. Normally I would agree with you, however, it does work the other way.

If a hotdesk user from site B logs into site A the set-up works even though it is cross system.

I have tried to get this straight in my head but just does not make any sense.

Is ME only to be used for static users i wonder.

This is in the docs:

Enterprise Site Configuration
The Mitel Mobile Extension application release 1.5 is installed on a MSL 8.2 server running on the Enterprise LAN and must have IP connectivity to all ICPs which have Users, Outgoing Lines, or TUIs.

So it looks like it should take an outside line on the system where it is logged in too

I did only install it once on a single system so i am not very experienced :)

Mitel100,

The scenario you sugested is consistant with my earlier analysis.

When the hotdesk user is logged into the system where the monitoring station is programmed the system works. When logged into the remote system it does not.

If you have a monitoring station programmed on each, it will work on both, otherwise not.
