Mobile Ext 1.6 WHEN ?

Hey im so eager to find out when this is supposedly coming out i heard that they are only going to support only 1 type of phone (crackberry) eeek

Im hoping to know when it comes out also if theres a way i can see with MSA or if theres like a SDK or a way to make a program on the Iphone / WM6 device / G1 google android phone/ to be able to support this Type of call signaling

Im sure its Mitai with the minet protocol but im not sure if the Actual Call is going to be SIP or Minet....

So far it only supports VM6, crackberry is in the works.

It's WM6 and Nokia symbian devices. Blackberry to follow as RIM want to make a gateway

MME will not support Blackberry (at least from the Blackberry Mobile App). There is a different server in the works.

Of course you can make it work with BB today using ** codes.

Oh snanagins.. im wondering if we need new and extra licensing.

I heard from the Sales guy FROM MITEL of our area that theres only Rim thats going to be The app. i guess then from reading your responses he was misinformed of what Phones.

The MME 1.6 server will support Nokia and Windows Mobile Enabled Devices. These devices will be able to load a specially designed application, that makes working with MME 1.6 easier. You will not need to use star code (i.e. **6 to transfer).

In the coming months there will be an additional software package available that will allow a user to install RIMs MVS server (supporting PBX functionality via the tackball on your Blackberry).

Which application?

There is the mobile client that will install on a Windows Mobile phone OR a Nokia E series phone. It is just a cleaner, faster and more user friendly interface for controlling the call.

WiFi will not be supported (for now, or at least 18 months).

If you have a regular cell phone, it will continue to work the way it does today.
