Mobile device issue with connecting with exchange 2013

I am installing exchange 2013 and started testing accounts with no issues. Connected to Outlook and owa worked just fine. Tried to setup my samsung s5 for email with the new exchange 2013 server, but no luck. I was able to create the account, and could see on the exchange server, that the mobile device was reaching the server, but it would not synchronize and basically did nothing.

As far as the setup for mobile devices on the exchange, left everything defaulted to allow any mobile devices.

any help would be great, this halted my installation until I get find resolution.

I had a simlar problem with my new rollout of 2013. It turned out to be a permissions issue ActiveSync users cannot synchronize an EAS device for the first time in an Exchange Server 2010 or Exchange Server 2013 environment
