Mobile Computing in 5 years

Whay do you see in the fields of Mobile computeing in the near future? With PDA's becoming more "robust" and powerfull, and with the advent of the Crusoe chip which came out a little over a year ago. Will the world go mobile, are the desktop 'giants' turning into dinosaurs? I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every moment of it.

If WAP will be the protocol, then some drastic changes to its performance will need to be done before it succeeds.

What about bluetooth?

Price for wireless/cellular access in the USA need to come way down.

Need for killer wireless app. Getting information from point where created to point where needed. Its still a technology looking for a problem to solve.

Big inroads will be made by large automotive companies where wireless will be used to navigate cars and manage auto and travel objects.

Piconets for communicating within small areas. Such as conventions etc. Need to be set up and taken down quickly.
Military applications ???

Would like to turn my coffee pot on, draw my bath water, and start my Pink Floyd albums when I am 15, 5 and 1 minute away from my house. In not now, when?
