Hello,

We recently received a desktop mobile application developed by someone for maintainnace. The spec paper mentions about MC50 specification as:
CPU: Intel® XScale™ 520 Mhz processor
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows Mobile™ 2003

Now I made changes to the application on regular Intel Pentium 4 PC with Windows 2000 and VS.NET 2003 and tested using VS.NET emulator. Now if I deploy the system in our client's production system, will the EXE run or not? Our client says that it may not run as the EXE has to be created on the same Processor. Pl. help.

Regards,
Varsha

As long as they have the .net compact framework installed on their handheld, and during the construction of your app you only used classes/methods which are supported by the .net compact framework, they you can run it on any CPU architecture as the MSIL (Microsoft intermediate language) code is processor-agnostic.
