Does anyone have a way to remember which pairs go where when crimping? I get so tired of carrying my stupid notebook, but I can never seem to remember what goes where. I hate to admit it, but I've been doing this for almost 15 years (not every day), you would think I would have memorized it by now. You know, something along the lines of Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge for a music scale. I have no idea why it won't stick, must have been too much radiation from all those old green terminals.

Well Leviton makes a nice wallet sized plastic card. Sorry, I don't know of a trick other than memory.

It is only my opinion, based on my experience and education...I am always willing to learn, educate me!

I had gotten a free wallet cheater book with pin-outs from Siemen after requesting a catalog and info packet.

Ravius,

Call this number 866-548-5814 (Siemon Customer Service) and request your free copy of "Siemon Modular Hardware Guide" part number # REF-GUIDE.

Take a terminated cable and cut it off leaving just a bit of cable sticking out so you can easily see the colors.
now to try to make it so you can remember which pairs to cross, you might trim the ones you don't need a bit shorter. Then carry it in your pocket.

Thanks everyone! I hoped there was some simple way to do it, but I guess I would have heard about it at one course or another at some time. Thanks for the info and your time. I'll see if I can't get hold of one of those cheater cards for the wallet. I guess I should make myself some flash cards and take two weeks vacation to try to hammer something this simple into my fossilized brain for good.
