MMM and POP3 accounts

I want to add email reporting to my CCCv5 and the release notes for the MMM state that it works with POP3 accounts.

I have been told from my supplier that it only supports Exchange servers?

Does anyone know the definitive answer here?

Exchange server only. Its uses CDO with a local MAPI account (outlook) connected to exchange. It collects mail from exchange email boxes using that account.

Quite fun to setup, CDO is the key if using MMM on a server other than the exchange server.

Probably not technically 100% correct but close enough

Do you want to distribute CCC reports via e-mails? Any extended MAPI compliant server can be used according to the documentation.

MMM only works in a Microsoft Centric site, eg: Exchange Required, however you can configure SBS server with the POP3 connector to retrieve email via POP3 and place into a configured exchange mailbox and then MMM can retrieve from the local exchange account as normal (Rights Required) and route via iContact to a distribution group in Active Directory.

If not using SBS and Exchange you can use a third party application to receive Pop3 email into the exchange server.

A Exchange Server is required and a Windows Domain.

Hang on - to my knowledge MMM is still not supported on CCCv5. Or have a I totally lost it?

It is not supported on CCC 5.0.
And it doesn't work on 4.0 either.

I've got it working on CCC V4

Haven't tried it on CCC V5 but it uses the MMM on V4 i've read
