Hi.

I have a Cisco 827. I try to write this config :

mmi polling-interval 60
no mmi auto-configure
no mmi pvc
mmi snmp-timeout 180

Then I do conf term, after I try these command and it said command not reconize.

any one have an Idea, my ios version is : 12.2(4)YA11.

Thanks

you need to be in exec mode ie. have a # prompt not a > prompt
to be able to issue the conf t then it should take all the above commands

In other words...
router>en
router#conf t
router(config)#
NOT LIKE THIS...
router>conf t

However, I do not believe this is what you are doing. I am not sure the 827 supports mmi polling and such---that is only for ADSL, so the router can get config stuff from the DSLAM. Isn't the 827 an ISDN router?

burtsbees,

Yes I know how to go in enable mode !

I want to connect the adsl modem to Telebec provider. I have a speedstream now. It just for the challenge and the knowledge. I have a Pix 506e installed, then I want also have the adsl modem cisco. I found on the net some config of Bell, almost the samething of Telebec, and each time that I saw a running config I saw mmi command. But I'm not sure if is it use. If someone have a config for Telebec it will be more than welcome,

Thanks

burtsbees,

I was merely explaining what tjbradford was trying to say! Shouldn't you be yelling at him? I know you know I know that you know how to get into enable mode!lol

You won't be able to put this command into the 827. You can in an 837. I have a 2620XM with a WIC-1ADSL, and it STILL won't support that command. My IOS is

System image file is "flash:c2600-adventerprisek9-mz.124-23.bin"

The mmi commands are only available in the ADSL routers with the integrated ATM interface for ADSL. My friend has the one I sold him and wants to now sell it...interested?

burtsbees,

Maybe, what is the model ? Do you know if Telebec need this setup, or Bell, it's almost the samething ? I talk the mmi command. I guess not.

I want to setup this cisco 827 for testing and knowledge.

Thanks

Can be interresting, how much for the unit ?

I believe he wants $125...it has a crypto IOS on it, I used it at one time myself as a VPN server.

Burt

Let me think about it. BTW, you don't know the config for Telebec's ADSL, in Quebec Province ?

Thanks

If the modem is up, you should be able to hit it with a browser and see...try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, or it may be written on it. You should be able to call. I assume you mean the PVC info (VC/VP)?

Burt

Yes you'r rigth, PVC and I found that it should be 0/35. And also hear pppoe for protocol.

One thing, Telebec send a Speedstream modem when you connect with. I test another modem came from my freind at home and it's work also. Then it seems to have no login, password for connection or it's a unique one. But I don't have this information. I am correct or not ?

Thanks

A lot of times, it's the email address as the username and email password for the password. You may have to call your ISP to find out for sure---I have AT&T, and at best, they seem to sometimes have I.Q.'s that reach room temperature, but not often. However, I have had to ask them for my info, and they were able to tell me, no problem. The ISP is the only place that will know for sure.

Burt

I called the ISP, but they don't seems to provide the information. My SpeedStream 5200 is provide by the ISP. I try a lot of IP to access to it with no luck. How can I determine what is the IP address of this modem ?

I know angry scan, Can I scan all of scope like 192.168.0.x, 192.168.2.x, etc without changing my ip address on my NIC ?

If you're using it to get on the internet, and the modem hands the IP to the NIC via DHCP, you're in the same subnet already...just do
ipconfig

Burt

OK, make sens ! I'll try it. I found a lot of informations for my config DSL with my ISP (Inside contact !!!), I will start a new thread with this. I'm new with cisco router then I need your help.

Thanks
