Guys, I am getting this message mmc.exe - The instruction at 0x1000935d referenced at 0x009a008. The memory could not be read". My OS is Windows XP Pro, Pentium 4 2.2 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM. I notice that I get this message every time I close the Device Manager Console. (I have the Nvidia nView Desktop Manager open at the time or I had previously opened the nView Desktop Manager before I opened and closed the Device Manager Console). I had upgraded from my onboard graphics card to a PNY nVidia3 TI 500 AGP graphics card.

After lengthy troubleshooting and numerous phone calls (the experts are of no help), I finally realized that the problem originated in the nview.dll file. On a hunch I disabled the nView Desktop Manager and I was not getting the message anymore. My question is this....since I do not want to disable my desktop Manager every time I log on how can I disable permanently and will this have any serious repercussions on my system? What might be the problem here???

This is very troublesome to me. Can anyone offer suggestions?

From what I'm reading, (no real-world experience in this), it's okay to do(reference PNY site)

Thanks gargouille, I installed a newer version of the Win 2000/WinXP driver from the Nvidia site and that seemed to have resolved the problem. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
