Whenever I notice that Great Plains takes a full 3 minutes to launch and login to a company, I check task manager, the MMC.exe is running. If I end task this, Great Plains speeds up instantly. Why would this cause GP to hang and I guess, how can I prevent this mmc.exe from staying running (ie at that moment, nothing else is open or running that uses the mmc)?

Also, is anyone else experiencing extremely slow Smartlist since upgrading to version 7.5? I have deleted every stored proc and recreated in 7.5 but it still hangs when we open and then on every list we click on.

I do not see any instance of MMC running here on a client unless I open Enterprise manager. MMC is microsoft's management console and shouldn't have anything to do with GP....

I'm also experiencing the deathly slow smartlist problem, but I've benchmarked the sql server and it's eating more memory than it has onboard causing all sorts of HD paging. I'm going to upgrade some memory and see if it cools its heels.

I haven't opened Enterprise Manager yet today, but noticed that GP hangs when I open. I looked in task manager and mmc.exe is running (only other apps running are MS Outlook and Word xp). End task it and GP speeds up (ie stops hanging).

We have over 4Gb of RAM on our server and have sql capped at 2Gb. We've never run into any bottlenecks with RAM or processing (our 2 processors never hit above 50%).
