MMC and sql server

What kind of install did you do? Was it MSDE install? If so than you will have to install the client tools from another source.
If you did do an install from SQL Server 2000 Standard, Developer, Enterprise did you make sure that Client Tools was selected when you installed?
Other than that I do not know. Try a search in your Sql Server folder for *.msc and see if anything comes up.
Wish I could be more of a help but that is all I could think of right now.
