My apologies for the long post but just wanted to provide enough detail.

Installing an Avaya MM5.2 (9.2.150.0) with exchange 2007 SP2 setup - peer directory and peer exchange are running Windows Server 2008 SP2 - peer exchange running exchange 2007 SP2.

MM Permssions Checker looks fine seeing all as OK –

Installed all the required 3rd party software during MAS install - mmdct tool completed and MAS installed seeing the Octel container .

Updated the MAS server to SP1 as required - note updated to MM5.2 patch 8 (9.2.150.13) first as required then SP1 (9.2.171.1009)

Per notes on MM5201100

Added support for installing new Modular Messaging for Exchange systems that interface with Domain Controllers running Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 where the Exchange servers are running Exchange 2007.

Added support for customer environments to be upgraded to Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 when a Modular Messaging for Exchange system is already installed and operational.

Added support for Peer and Non-peer Exchange Servers running Microsoft Exchange 2007 Service Pack 2.

*******************************************************************************************************************************************

Here is the problem I am unable to open the VMSC to complete the install and setup as its reports “there is a problem obtaining security roles from the MAS “the system can not find the specified path.

Ended up doing a reload with a new mmdct tool just inc ase and same issue - tried another set of software as well....same issue

Just never run into this one before.

Anyone running a MM5.2 with the same exchange 2007 SP2 and Window Server 2008 SP2 ?

Cheers :)

what account are you using in the dct file to run the services under? it sounds like it is a permissions issue

Texeric ,

the MISCM fully completed and yes I installed the WebLM license ( shows as normal )

called in a trouble to Avaya and after a week and 4 techs & tier 4 later they resloved it by running a tool used to update roles so to speak as they get skewed at times in that Permission Checke showed all " OK ".

this tool is only available from tier 4 as they had me looking on the MAS server for 3 days and I expained its not on the MAS and or any of the software that comes with the system -

" are you sure its not something we have to get from tier 4 " I asked -

reply was " its there "

all in all ......just glad its resolved as I was about to climb out onto the window ledge .......but being that they are in the basement the worst thing that could get is I might sprain an ankle.

I have yet to see a permissions checker program I could trust coming from Avaya. So far the versions that have come out for the permissions checker I would never use!
