All,
We are in the early stages of implementing a MM4.0 with MSS.
The client has Exchange for their email. How can the voicemail be integrated with the email? Will the Microsoft Client plug-in do it?
Thanks in advance,
Hudson

Well that is one way to do it. The plug in will allow the users to see the VM and faxes in outlook.

I am unsure of what you mean by "integrated with the email" is the customer looking for something that the system will not do?

Or do they just want the VM in the outlook client?

No, right now they are just looking to see the voicemails in their email. What other way can it be done? Which do you recomend?

Do you see alot of installs with Mas/MSS for customers with Exchange as their email? Pro's Con's?
Thanks Ken

I have implemented MM at several of my locations and am in the process of implementing it at my biggest location with 2000 mailboxes. We played with the outlook plug-in but found that it was very difficult in our environment where people have roaming profiles. The plug-in is installed on the local machine and must then be installed for every machine that person could log into which would be difficult.

We ended up standardizing on the Mutare EVM Product. It can provide Notification and Delivery of the voice mail message into the users standard outlook inbox. This also works well with Blackberry Users who would recieve the message and can then play it back on their BB.

The only downfall that we have seen on this approach is that EVM cannot automatically turn off users MWI lights. There is a link to mark the message read in the email but it's a manual approach. We hope that Mutare will eventually build this function into its application.

Hope this helps... and I don't work for Mutare.... not a sales guy.... just another tech specialist trying to help.

Alex.

EVM is definitely a great option since you already purchased MM for MSS. MM for Exchange would have been another option you could have chosen for your voicemail system.
