odd issue we just took over a site that has MM3.0 with MSS
when you go into a users mailbox and click subscriber options it never opens up - looks as if trying to find the file but does not deploy if that makes sense - never see the subscriber window open up - almost like its missing something

browsed the mmdct in the config file and noticed that WSO was not checked off when installed - its been up and working for at least 18 months I am told other then this no issues at all works just fine - just was trying to setup SMTP email notification via subscriber options

I looked at another MM3.0 with MSS and it works just fine
also looked at its mmdct in config file and it has WSO checked off

anyway to enable WSO after the mmdct has been run without a fresh reload ?

cheers

In order to open the WSO from the MSS subscriber profile - you need to log into the MSS using IE from a MAS in the same MM domain...

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

WSO does not have anything to do with subscriber options working. You need to have subscriber options loaded on the MAS that you are using to connect to the MSS with or have the user added under subscriber admin tab.

If WSO is loaded then you would need to use a browser and go to MAS FQDN /WSO and it should work for WSO but you will need to log into the mailbox with the password.

thank you both - Mr Means you are the hardest working man in show business !

the issue is when I am connected to the MSS - either login to MAS and use IE or if I login to MSS direct ( KVM switch ) and open subscriber management : edit subscriber xxxx

click on a user and select " Launch Subscriber Options "

opens up with

" do you want to save this file , or find a progam online to open it ?

Name : suboptions.mno
type: unknown file type
from 172.31.1.1 ( private address of the MSS )

or if I chose edit selected user and drill down to the bottom of the subscriber's account and choose " launch subscriber options " same event

" do you want to save this file , or find a progam online to open it ?

looks as if it can not find the file to open as mentioned I looked the mmdct tool on the MAS and see they never selected WSO - so it appears it does not have the ability to open the mno document

That tells me that the subscriber options are not loaded on the MAS. You would need to install them to be able to access the users options.

You would need to put in the MAS application DVD in the MAS and run the setup from the \Install\Client
Distrib folder. It will tell you you need to restart the MAS but you do not. I should work right away.

makes no mention of open just diplays :

" do you want to save this file , or find a progam online to open it ?

going to try Mr. Means resolve as this makes sense but wonder why Subscriber Options not loaded as mentioned I looked at the mmdct tool in config and it shows WSO not checked off ( not sure why they did not load this when it was installed )

I will update with progress -

cheers : )

Now that defintely sounds like subscriber options was not installed on that machine.

Keep WSO separate from this issue as it is not related. Loading WSO on the machine does not give you the ability to launch subscriber options when you click the button on the webpage of the mailbox you are looking at.
