I have the MM Outlook client running on my pc. However how do I get the messages to playback to my phone? I know that in SO you have to change it to telephone and populate the extension, that isnt my problem. My problem is when Im in the client and I retrieve my messages it only opens in windows media player, I dont see the option to send it to the phone.

Thanks.

Sounds like the plugin is not istall right as it should give you the option to use the Avaya player or the phone. I would reinstall it.

If you open the voice recorder from the avaya mm program group it will let you config the phone ext in it. This may work in your case but i can't make mine fail. what are you running on your pc for the operating system

Im running XP SP2.

Yes in SO I can change it to telephone, however when I go into Outlook and goto the MM folder to view my messages and I double click on a message it just shows a windows media player attachment.

However if I want to create a new voicemail from that folder it does bring up the avaya media player and when I click the record button it does ring my phone.

Thanks Ken.

The previous MM tech here basically had the users install the client as an IMAP4 client instead of using the "other server type".

It worked but it didnt give full functionality. I wasnt thinking about how the client was installed.

Thanks for the help.

I have this feature working, but I can only listen to messages through media player. When I try to have it ring my phone, I get a message "Unable to initialize voice player. Access denied." Do you guys have any idea on this one? Maybe I am missing something simple.

I just discovered that I can access my greetings and such from the MAS, in subscriber options, but not from my computer. Maybe I will try reinstalling to see if that helps. I would still welcome any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Are you using a XP PC with service pack 2 on it? if you are you will need to download the new plugin from the support website.

Yes. WinXP SP2. Which file should I download? I am looking at Avaya Support Download Center, just not sure which file to select.

Thanks for your help, Ken. I figured it out, and it works like a charm.
