In MM 5.2, I recently set up a CALL APP as a test and have it working the way I want it for a main number greeting (there are multiple locations w/specific greetings)...but the only drawback right now is how to get the greeting to change for a holiday or other office closure...I'm trying to not be in the middle of this as the greeting changes are handled by non-IT personnel (some closures are on the fly). In the Audix days, you had a normal box where someone could record an alternate greeting and activate it...very simple. Can it be that simple in MM? We use Exchange Storage/Active Directory for setting up individual boxes...but I need to give callers the ability to "dial by name" or "enter the party's extension now" options...

Couple of things:
MM Audix does allow you to record greetings "optional greetings" within their mailboxes and using Options.

Under C:\Avaya_Support\SampleCallerApp you should see a Dial-by-Name and Transfer App. Dial-by-Name only needs export association id. Transfer requires wave file with format CCITT 8bit mono and export association id

We are using Aria. Is there a way to set up an individual voicemail box via Active Directory for the main number in each office and still have the ability to provide the caller options to Dial by Name, Enter the extension desired or leave a message? If not, then how would we easily maange changing the main number greeting in caller applications each time an office is closed (holiday, inclement weather, etc.) and not involve the IT department in the changing process?

In a caller app you can have multiple numbers calling the same app if you want a generic main number and holiday greeting to play.

In Aria TUI for MM, you still have access to the Optional greetings through the Subscriber Options tool.

Dial-by-name by default can be access with the * key when accessing the main pilot number otherwise you can setup the Dial-by-name caller app that is provided in the SampleCallerApps folder.

I don't know about the AD but would be interested if this is a viable solution.

Thanks. We have individualized greetings so one App will not work. I found that when I call my voicemail, I can press "*8" to enter someone's mailbox number (it will transfer to their extension first) or I can press "*" to spell their name...so the options are there as you stated and work...the only drawback is other options are there and I can see callers getting into a pickle if they don't pay attention. At least I have 2 ways to do this...one where I have to be involved (Caller Apps) and one where the individual office can manage the greetings/turn them on and off as the box would be a standard voicemail box. I appreciate you giving me something to think about - it all fell into place!
