Recently, I've had my MAS service "freeze up" on a few servers. Rebooting the server has cleared the issue, but I've been alarmed by the lack of alarms on the server. In fact, looking at the "displog -l act" and Windows Event Viewer give the impression that everything is just fine. However, all calls hear reorder, and message waiting is not updating. Has anyone else seen a lack of alarms on this system? Do you know if Avaya has serious intentions of fixing this? Or do I just have something configured wrong? It'd sure be nice to know that VM is down before the VP calls to ask when it'll be fixed.

I have been using an Event Log Monitor program from GFI. I have it on my in house system. You can setup a wide array of filters on which events to "notify". There is also the built in alarm notification in the Voice Mail System Configuration as well. Maybe there will be more robust maintenance tools in release 3.
