I have MM 5.2 using an audiocodes gateway to connec the sip interface to qsig on an older (Cm3.1.2) phone system.

Whenever a call goes to voicemail then back to an extension the caller hears a loud beep as the call is picked up. Dial by name and zeroing out from a greeting are two examples.

I tried renaming the music on hold file so the voicemail system is quiet during the transfer but when the call is answered there is a beep that both sides hear and the voice path does not open until after the beep.

Has anyone else heard this? Is anyone using the same set up? i am not sure if it is the audiocode box or the voicemail system.

or a native sip to sip connectionsI would like to know if you hear it too. If

That beep is probably from MM called a trombone tone so MM knows if the call came back to itself. You might be able to turn it off in MM. Check the configuration guide for the integration you are using to see if there is a registry setting you can add to remove it.

kepetersen, I am looking at the VMSC but I am not sure what TTY is. What item is it under?

texeric, thanks, I have not found anything yet. Is there a technical name for it?

texeric,

That looks like a likely cause of my problem. I had found the CPT file described in the audiocodes docs but it made it sound like it was just related to FXO links. I will try to get that file and see what it does.

Thanks

9mmgeek.. TTY is located in the VMSC under Audio Encoding. It is used for those who "Enable system for devices used by people who are deaf or hard of hearing". Federal regulations require it to be a system wide setting so once turned on all subscribers will hear the beep.
