I'm configuring a MM 5.2 MAS for Exchange server on a customer provided server. I'm joining an existing VMD using gvconfig ("Continue with MM Setup") and I get the "Missing Prompts" dialog but the list of missing prompts is blank. The server has all of the prompts installed. I've patched the server to Service Pack 9, though I've tried it at other levels too.

I'm a bit at a loss as to what to try next. I can create a new domain but if that fails for some reason or I try to join another server to the domain, I get the same dialog. The server I'm trying to join is a fresh installation of MM 5.2 (not an upgrade).

Hoping somebody has some ideas. See attachment for screen capture.

Why are you using Gvconfig and not the dct file saved from mas1 to do the install ?

what version DVD's are you using for the install ?

I've built an image with MM pre-installed to speed up installation or rebuilding of servers across my company. I don't have a DCT file, though I suppose I could make one from one of my other servers. I'm not familiar with the DCT tool. I ran it once and it seemed like it wanted to collect more information that I wanted to give it. (I'm not a big fan of wizards configuring things for ya..).

Is there any documentation on using the DCT tool? The installation instruction for MM with Exchange are a bit vague.

the info for the DCT files and the install are all in the installation guide.

I don't know what you are looking at but the install guide does not seem vague to me. It is not the best by any means but it works.

If you are joining the MAS to a up and running VMD then you really need to run the DCT analyze on MAS 1 and sill in the info for MAS 2

GVCONFIG just does not work the way it did in earlier releases.
