Hi
I completed an SIP install for MM 5.0 using S8730 Hardware for both the MAS and MSS; I installed the Perm licensed for the MAS to ensure the SIP Switch integration was activated.

After completing the install the client wanted to change the DNS names for the MAS and MAS, I wasn’t 100% sure how to do this in both the MAS and MSS so I completed a complete reinstallation of the OS and MAS Application and used a new DCT file with the correct DNS names.

However when I came to install the old MAS licence I get a licence file invalid message from VMSC and cannot relicense the MAS?

I compared the Host ID numbers copied from VMSC which is used in RFA to generate the Licence file and to my surprise I found that they were different, I assumed they would have been the same and related to the MAC address of the MAS which hasn’t changed as I am reinstalling on the same server?

Do I need to deliver a new licence file for the MAS every time I reinstall the OS and MAS Application or is there something else wrong here I’m missing?

Any assistance will be much appreciated.

FYI items changed in new DCT file.

VMD from xx_xx to xx-xx
Name of servers from xxx_xxx to xxx-xxx
Audio encoding

Thanks PBX

Did you reload the MSS OS as well? Did you change the voicemail domain name?

If you followed the Catastrophic Disk Failure exactly then you don't need a new license. Of course the assumption with that procedure is that you are not changing any items.

Sorry, I just read your entire post and yes if you change the VMD I would think it would need a new license. Changing the name of the servers and the audio encoding wouldn't need a new license
