I have an problem with our MWI's not working all of an sudden. Normally restarting the services or creating an new mwistate.mdb file fixes it but not this time.
Yeah I restarted the mailbox monitor service but it doesn't make any difference. When doing an "status station XXXX" the Message waiting field never populates with "SPE". When running operational history viewer on the MAS it says the MWI notice was sent.
That's the thing all OHV traces look exactly the same which makes me wonder if any of the lights are truly working. They've got over 250 users but most listen to voicemail through Outlook only. Only an handful actually rely on the phone to tell them when an voicemail arrives. Last I heard the vendor was going to install the latest service pack to see if that fixes the issue.
If you are using DSE integration (assuming to Avaya) then you must only use 1 port for MWI operation. As port affinity is required when using FAC for MWI purposes from individual ports/stations.
Check to make sure the message arrives and stays in the Inbox folder of the mailbox in question.
The voicemail in Outlook stays in the mailbox and if you mark it as read or unread the state changes on VM server. But the info never reaches the phone. The only other time I had this problem Exchange was the culprit. Apparently the Exchange administrator wasn't installing the rollups and it caused MWI to work sporatically. They did install another rollup on the exchange server but not on the MAS because the vendor says we didn't need them. I no longer work for that organization so I don't know if they got it working or not. But if they asked me I would tell them to go ahead and install
The BP upgraded them to Service Pack 10 which caused none of the lights to work. I think the problem maybe related to Exchange rollups since everything was working until after rollup 8 for Exchange 2007.
Can you downgrade an service pack for Modular Messaging 4 with DSE integration?
CM engineer wanted us to change the MWI settings on the MM.
On the MAS go to VMSC>Expand the MAS and go to PBX Integration and under QSIG\SE.
MWI On: 11#%s
MWI Off: 12#%s
