mm 02 not taking messages

got call out on a merlin mail R2 , all mail boxes are answering but refusing to take messages,after power hit , check all boxes and they have a cos of 10 tried changing cos to 2 , same problem, tried changing type of port allocation , ,no go , can't get in by serial port , it fried, can't remember what else to try ,any ideas ? thanks

will also tell you push one after leaving message for more options,and talk after the tone , but still cannot leave mess. then transfers to opertor

DUDE, you have 2 Mails systems here (I THINK)

I can't recall Mer Mail doing that EVER...

That's another voice mail systems option.

DO they by chance have an OFF SITE VOICE MAIL?

If you unplug the Mer Mail, what happens?

mm its almost as though the message is actully part greeting & the other half the 1 & nothing to approve is part of programing portion of it power done & reset many times

Is there an 800 Number I could access this VM with?

sorry no 800 number, the 1 is the option for after leaving the mess , other options which is ok it just will not allow to leave a message ,what confusing me , after 3 sec it says nothing to approve, to connect to operator press 0 to transfer another extension press *T which it should do
just pull 1 out of back junk room to test & it will just sit their waiting to take a message till i hit #,is leaving a message on another portion of the hard drive

Pressing 1 is not an option I ever recall in Merlin Mail.

(UNLESS, it may have been something in RELEASE 1 MER MAIL for use as a NON INTEGRATED VOICE MAIL)

What is this connected to?

Is it still connected?

legend 7.0 ,its been in since about 94, the voice mail that is it started from a legend 2 or 3 & upgrade to 7 in about 1999 never any trouble till now

Does anyone Rebuild R2 Hard drives?

cvrbob and merlinman: I have a spare drive with R2.25 software on it - which is also y2k compliant. However if this is a really old Merlin Mail Release 2 (old style case) - I don't know if it will work on it. It will work on the Release 2.21 unit for sure (which has the same small footprint case as the Merlin Mail Release 3.0

hey Tom thanks but it old the style, i hve 1 or 2 back in my room that i'm going to try to change hard drives with
