Can I have caller ID with 408MLX GS/LS-ID circuit pack, MLX-10 sets in A Merlin Magix? If so, what do I need to do to turn it on? Will it work if the trunks feeding the Magix are stations off a G3si V11 ?

Thanks,
Mike

I've never programmed the gs/ls-id card, but I do have CallerID on mlx10 sets off my PRI trunks. As long as the G3si v11 provides CallerID to 'internal' analog ports, i don't see why it wouldn't work. Anyone have better information?

Your analog stations off the Definity need to be type CALLRID. Now, you'll get CLID Name and Number. Additionally, on Magix 3.0, the phone can be programmed to display name and number at the same time.

Hope this helps...

Kris

You will have to set id-delay under lines and trunks for all lines on the 408 MLX that will receive caller id. I'm not 100% that you'll get it from the definity, but I can't see why not.

No, I'm not using a link to the Magix, what I'm using are stations off the G3si V11 in (the same building) as incoming trunks to the Magix on 801,2,3,4 of the 408 card. These G3si stations are DID from the CO.I turned on ID-delay using SPM, but it doesn't work.
Any thoughts?
Mike

Have you verified on the definity station ports that CID is being rec'd?

I don't think CID will arrive this way.

I think it will Pepperz. When the CID info is sent to the t/r device on the Definity it should arrive in the same exact way that it would on a typical LS line from the CO. The ANI info will follow the ring voltage down the line and appear on the display just after the 1st ring. I think that Papagigo just needs to verify that the t/r port on the Definity is receiving the ANI info sent and then by enabling CID delay on the LS trunks in the Merlin, it should pass through.

I thought you needed a specific analog card for the G3 for it to pass along cid info on analog ports.

How about this, just so us old guys understand, I take a line from the Central Office with CID and install it in the Merlin Magix MLX-408 LS/GS-ID circuit pack. Is everyone saying that the caller ID info from the CO will appear on the MLX-10 display after ID-DELAY option is selected for that Trunk port?

That's how I understand it. And yes, the Definity has to have an appropriate CLASS capable analog card. See thread690-618525

Yes jgideon is correct on both accounts. That is what I was getting at when I asked if the Definity t/r ports were able to receive the CID. And yes, all that needs to be enabled in the Merlin to receive the CID from a CO trunk with CID ordered is ID-Delay on the appropriate lines.
