MLX phone distance from switch port 2

What is the distance limitations of an MLX phone from the system port? Assume 24 guage wire. Thanks

MLX phones have a distance limitation of 3000 feet over 24 gauge wire.

I do not know. The customer was wanting to know limitations so as to decide where to place temporary classroom buildings for country club (golf) training sites. They have lots of acreage.

In that case, you are going to also need IROB's (In range out of building protectors) and they are not cheap.

But without them, you could damage the Switch and the Outside phones.

It would be good to be familiar with the NEC article 800 and related sections to Bonding and Grounding in relation to IROBs or station protectors for safety of equipment and people.

I work in an airport setting and have many MLX phones well past the 3000 ft mark. The IBOB units are worth evey penny but need to be on both ends and grounded correctly.
