Is it common practice to use these in conjunction on the same port?

Are there any clear advantages or disadvantages to using both on the same port?

Right now I have an access switch that uplinks via MLT on 2 gig ports to a distribution switch. What would happen if I enabled Lacp on these ports for both link parters?

Thanks.

If your connecting Nortel gear to Nortel gear I would recommend (and I believe Nortel recommends) that you use MLT over LACP. There are a lot of restrictions with LACP that do not hinder MLT. I believe you need to disable the LACP group if you want to add/remove VLANS, no need todo anything with a MLT other than just add/remove the VLANS you wish.

Cheers!
