Hi to all

my question: I have a Cat 5000 with a sup III, and mls is enabled by default. BUT I don´t have a RSM installed.
When it´s enabled I get "MLS - Too many moves" messages, probably because of a lot traffic with two gig links . So I simply disabled the mls, and the messages stopped. ;-)
Do I have a disadvantage now ???

What I thought is, that when mls is enabled --- the Switch checks every packet and stores it in the mls cache. Because of the lack of an RSM the information remains in the storage for the max agingtime --- and that causes too many moves! That ´s how I explained that to my Boss --- and turned it off !!! :)
Am I right ???

best regards
