MLM 007 serial connection?? 1

Can anyone tell me what the common/best uses are for the serial connection on an MLM 007 vm card? I'm hoping you can retrieve programming info via hyperterminal or something similar.

Btw, what's hyperterminal? How can I get it, use it, etc?

A million thanks to anyone kind enough to give me advice on these.

Connect to the serial port, use 1200-N-8-1 as the settings, press enter when you connect, and use the serial number on the unit as the password. From there, you will be able to get configuration reports that show what mailboxes and auto attendants have been set up. You can't change any of the settings from there, but at least you can get a good picture of it. There is also a modem built into the 7th port on the card, if you call its extension number, you can do the same thing, again using the serial number as the password.

Hyperterminal is a basic modem communications program that came with Win95/98.
