Server - Win2K Server w/SP4, 2 Xeon 2.4GHz processors, 2GB RAM, 200 GB HD on RAID 5 hot-swap, 5312 Smart Array Controller, 64bit/66MHz Dual Channel Wide Ultra 3 SCSI
Problem - This server has been running fine since purchase in 2003. Backup is to an external Compaq HDLT320 tape drive on the external SCSI connector. Until about 3 months ago backups were very reliable - full backups nightly using Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 of this plus two other servers via remote agent. Now, every 10-12 days backups start slowing waaaaay down (27 hours to backup & verify 60GB instead of 3-1/2). Backups are successful, just very slow. The server itself also slows down noticeably.
The fix (sorry, that should be band-aid) is a reboot, after which it's good for another 10-12 days. Any ideas what might be causing it, and how to fix it?
