We upgraded two ML370G3 to dual-processor Xeon 2.6. I don't know how, but fan speed is now set to high for both machines, leading to too much noise. Is it an automatic change when you ad a processor ? Can it be reverted back to normal without overheating risk ?

Thanks

I, sorry for the late reaction, but I did not received the notice for the thread... yes I have support pack 7.2

not sure - all our servers have a minimum of 2 cpu so not sure but certainly the default seems to be high

the supp pack should bring them down

seen it on one that was a bit noisy and it wasnt going in a recommended location so did end up turning it down and it's been ok

i wouldnt recommend the setting but really depends on the temperature of room etc
