Alright, the company I work for has recently aquired some Compaq Pro Liant ML370's. I am trying to combine the old things into one, half decent machine. Combining RAM went smooth, adding a second processor did not. I place in the processor, and reboot, it halts on reboot, just a black screen. Any idea's on what to do?

Procs are different---they must match EXACTLY, part number, speed, bus speed, cache---EVERYTHING must match in a dual-CPU setup.

If the processor speeds are the same, they could still have different stepping values. I've found that the lowest stepping processor needs to be in the first socket.

Thanks for the help guys, they were differnet clock speeds. We switched their placement, and it booted up perefectly!
