I'm having a devil of a time finding the 1GHz PIII Option kits for my ML370, which is currently running 2 x 600MHz CPU's. They're either out of stock or overpriced (About $950 each).

Does Compaq create an OEM package for these, or it the CPU Case (not including the Heatsink) direct from Intel. I'm wondering if I can just buy the Intel Boxed CPU to upgrade these. The part I had in mind was:

BX80526KZ001256 found on:

Let me know if I'm nuts and this is impossibe.
The compaq Parts for this are

187602-B21 PIII 1GHz/256
or replacement part number is
221536-001

Decided to sport $712.50 each for the Compaq Parts. I don't know what I was thinking, even considering putting parts in my servers that would likely void the warranty. Just frustrated I guess.
