ML350 sees 8GB, OS only sees 4GB!

Hi there,

I have just built a ML350 (G3) and installed Windows 2003 (Enterprise Edition) The server sees 8GB of ram installed
(memory installed inter leaved mode) yet the OS (which is capable of seeing up to 32GB of RAM) can only see 4GB!

Any ideas?

Are you sure you haven't got the RAM configured in a failover mode (basically, half your RAM is useable, half is acting as failover in the event of a DIMM failing).

That's what I first thought. It turned out to be the OS though. It will only see the first 4GB unless you add the /3GB switch to boot.ini file.
